30 day closure: Connects Lake George - Deckers areas
Major Pike Forest road blocked by bridge repair

MORRISON … If you plan on traveling from the Deckers-Cheesman Reservoir area to Lake George or vice versa, you may want to check your map for an alternate route. Beginning Monday, Oct. 3, the U.S. Forest Service will close a portion of Forest Road 211 (Matukat Road) for up to 30 days to replace the superstructure of a bridge that traverses Goose Creek along that route.

The Goose Creek Bridge and closure point lies approximately half-way between the Lake George and Deckers-Cheesman Reservoir and one-half mile directly west of the Lost Valley Ranch. Points along the Matukat Road from either the north or south are accessible up to the point of the bridge construction, but through-traffic is not possible.

The bridge repair work is being completed by Hartland Construction out of Colorado Springs. For additional information, contact J. R. Kirkaldie, South Platte Ranger District, at 303-275-5622
