If you love to recreate in the Alma area, the Mosquito Range Heritage
Initiative (MRHI) needs your input. Join neighbors for an Open House on
Thursday, April 12, Alma Town Hall, 6-8 pm to share your opinions.
MRHI has received a Colorado State Parks Grant to create a
comprehensive trails plan to identify, locate, evaluate and prioritize
trails in the Mosquito Range. The target area runs from Hoosier Pass
to Weston Pass, including Mts. Lincoln, Bross, Democrat, Sherman and
Cameron.
We are looking for information regarding your favorite trails, areas
of concern, types of preferred recreation (hiking, biking, horseback
riding, etc.), possible trail links, campground needs and so on. What
is your favorite hike or ride? Do we need to rebuild a trail?
Protect a favorite wetland? Your opinion counts.
Information gathered will be used to prioritize funding and determine
needs for signage or facilities, trail reconstruction and maintenance,
natural resource protection, addressing user conflicts, accessing
geographical and cultural landmarks and more. This is the first of
three public meetings that will be held as part of the planning
process
If you are unable to attend the meeting, you can access the survey
on-line at www.mrhi.org.
MRHI is a non-profit organization located in Park County, Colorado.
