Hartsel, CO: A severely wounded Marine veteran who loves Colorado and snow sports will get a specially adapted home at 1392 Blacksmith Road southwest of Hartsel. The nonprofit, volunteer organization Homes for our Troops will announce the groundbreaking on Saturday afternoon, May 5.
Marine Sgt. Christopher Fesmire, 27, lost both legs when a landmine exploded under his vehicle in AlQaim, Iraq. Fesmire volunteered for this tour in Iraq after he was recalled to serve in Kuwait in 2003. He was stationed in Al Anbar province, near the Syrian border.
