June 12, 2007, Denver, Colo., … With saddened hearts Hartsel Springs Ranch announces the passing of Richard Grumet, on-site partner and member of the Hartsel Springs Ranch Board of Directors in Park County, Colo. On Saturday, June 16th a community potluck gathering of friends and family is being held in honor and celebration of his life.
Richard passed away on April 17, 2007, after battling a serious illness for several months. He is survived by his wife, Wendy, five children and five grandchildren.

Grumet came to Hartsel, Colo. in 1995 from California. He worked tirelessly on his vision of preserving the beauty and splendor of the region. He had foresight in developing strategies to provide water storage, redeveloping the Hartsel Hot Spring, providing water for the town of Hartsel, and introducing buffalo to Hartsel Springs Ranch to maintain a working ranch atmosphere.
