NELSON THANKS COMMUNITY

by Leona Nelson

This is going to be an attempt to thank all of the wonderful people who helped with the "Celebration of Roy Nelson's" life on October 20th at the Farmer's Union in Bailey. Also, thank you is not enough for over 200 of Roy's friends who attended his memorial service.

The apt officiating of Dave Wissel generated an atmosphere from sad to funny with his reading of emails and letters sent to Leona. The participants of the service, Justin and Cassie McGarvey, grandchildren, Mike Peterson, step-son, Steve Spann, friend, and Brian Woodyard did an outstanding job, considering the circumstances. Thank you all.

A special thank you to Mike Quaintance for the CD slide show of the service. Ruthie Lamping, Barbara Behl, Frank Roe, Joe McMahon and Debbie Jalanivich deserve special recognition for the collection and distribution of the food. Thank you to Brenda and Jim for the use of the Farmer's Union building on such short notice.

We are grateful that Tom Locke, editor of The Flume, and Sheri Cunningham put the announcements on their web sites, hence reaching many more people than we could without them.

Thank you all very, very much,

Leona C. Nelson and family
