Press Release: Mosquito Range Heritage Initiative
Register now for “One Little Avalanche Can Ruin Your Whole Day,” a two-part presentation and workshop sponsored by the Mosquito Range Heritage Initiative (MRHI) as part of the local nonprofit’s Outdoor Adventure Series.
First, join Brad Sawtell, Avalanche Forecaster and Educator for the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) and Education Committee Co-Chair with the American Avalanche Association for an Avalanche Awareness Presentation. The event is 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18th at Alma Town Hall. Wine & Cheese Reception, 6:30 and presentation at 8:30 p.m. There is a $5 suggested donation to benefit CAIC. Reservations are highly recommended.
Next, put new avalanche skills to practice with an Avalanche Awareness Workshop.

The MRHI Avalanche Awareness Workshop is rescheduled for Saturday,
March 1st, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Alma Town Hall. $25 includes lunch.
Join Will Barrett, Avalanche Forecaster, Breckenridge Ski Patrol, for
the Companion Rescue/Beacon Hands-On Training. Two hours indoor
instruction followed by lunch and a two-hour outside workshop.

Sat., Feb. 9th, Alma Town Hall, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Will Barrett, Avalanche Forecaster, Breckenridge Ski Patrol, will teach a basic companion rescue and beacon “hands-on” clinic with a two-hour inside lecture and lunch, followed by a two-hour outside workshop. $25 includes workshop and lunch with proceeds benefiting MRHI.
Participation is limited to the first 50 people registered. Be prepared for extended time outdoors in winter conditions.
MRHI, through cooperative efforts, seeks to conserve unique natural areas, preserve historic & cultural sites, promote diverse recreation and develop community business opportunities.
