Congressional candidate Wil Armstrong spent a morning visiting with voters in Bailey on Saturday, April 12th. Armstrong, a Colorado businessman and son of former U.S. Senator Bill Armstrong, is competing with three other Republicans for spots on this year's August Republican primary ballot. Primary voters will then choose a candidate to run on the general election ballot for U.S. Congress representing District 6. The District 6 seat will be vacated by five-term Congressman and immigration security leader Tom Tancredo.
Armstrong discussed tax, energy, business, and other important issues with the group at the Platte Canyon Grill over coffee and tea. With the help of his eight-year-old son, Jack, he handed out campaign literature, listened to the concerns and opinions of local citizens, and asked for signatures on a petition to place his name on the primary ballot.
Competitors for the Republican primary slot include State Senators Ted Harvey and Steve Ward, and Secretary of State Mike Coffman.
