BUENA VISTA MAN DIES NEAR SALT CREEK


Update: According to Park County Coroner Sharon Morris, an autopsy was completed on Friday, November 18, 2005, and it was concluded that Mr. Gunter died of natural causes.

A 57-year-old Buena Vista man died Wednesday, November 16 while hunting in the Salt Creek area on national forest land. James E. Gunter, Jr. had just shot an elk and was walking toward it when he collapsed. Gunter was pronounced dead at the scene by personnel from Flight for Life. The body was transported by Flight for Life to Fairplay.

Park County Coroner Sharon Morris has not released the cause of death pending a review of medical records and further testing.
