Supporting Our Soldiers and Their Mission
Rally to Be Held on September 11th
August 30, 2005 – On Sunday, September 11, 2005, the citizens of Colorado Springs will once again show their support for our troops deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom and other engagements in the global war on terrorism. On April 1, 2003, and again on April 15, 2003 over 450 residents of Colorado Springs converged on 18 different locations to wave the flag, carry signs of support for our troops and express their appreciation. To continue this effort and show our support for our soldiers, their families and their mission in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world, there will be a rally at the Pioneers’ Museum, 217 S. Tejon Street, at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11th. We will honor our military and their families and those in our community who make their deployments easier.
The purpose is to show our support for the heroes that stand among us. Our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines need to know that we appreciate their efforts to protect us from the ever-growing dangers of terrorism and its state sponsors.
Those wishing to support the troops and participate in the event, can call Jeff Crank at (719) 495-8062 or e-mail at jlcrank@att.net for more information.
