Park County Sheriff Fred Wegener has confirmed that two of his officers were placed on paid administrative leave on Friday, October 14, 2005.

Sheriff Wegener has authorized an independent outside agency to investigate issues of internal policy and personnel complaints involving Undersheriff Don Anthony and Lt. Ed Rasch. The duty status of the two officers will depend upon the results of the investigation, according to the Sheriff. No determination has yet been made regarding the substance of the complaints.

Captain Monte Gore has been named acting Undersheriff pending the outcome of the initial investigation, which must be completed by Friday, November 11, 2005.
