They say you missed jury duty!

*CAUTION* Increase in Scam phone calls identifiying as any County Sheriff saying you missed jury duty and a bench warrant was issued. They want you to pay a bond over the phone -

NO! That's not how that works.

They get the info off property records to call you, not jury lists.

If you are worried after such a call, call the agency they said they were with and ask them about it. Or, call your local law enforcement and tell them what happened. But DON'T give them any personal or payment information over the phone. If anything happened regarding jury service, you would be notified by mail.

Hang up on Medicare scams

What should you do if someone calls and asks for your information, for money, or threatens to cancel your health benefits if you don’t share your personal information? Hang up! It’s a scam. Scam artists may try to steal your personal information by calling you and asking for your current Medicare Number to get your new Medicare card.

Medicare will never call uninvited and ask you to give personal information or money to get your new Medicare Number or card. Learn what to do if you get a suspicious call like this.
