... Red flag warning in effect from 11 am this morning to midnight
MDT tonight for wind and low relative humidity for the central
Colorado mountains and southern Front Range foothills...

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a red flag
warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 11 am this morning to midnight MDT tonight.

* Affected area... fire weather zones 212 and 216.

* Timing... 11 am MDT to 9 PM MDT Thursday

* winds... southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Relative humidity... as low as 9 percent.

* Impacts... rapid fire growth and spread will be possible under
these hot, dry and breezy conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... .or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
