Pre-Construction activities requiring shoulder closures US 24 between Hartsel and Lake George
PARK COUNTY — Motorists should expect minimal daytime traffic impacts as the Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor partner Tezak Heavy Equipment begin to prepare the work zone on US Highway 24 between Hartsel and Lake George. Survey work will require daytime shoulder closures to US 24 from MP 253 to MP 254.5.
Daytime shoulder closures will begin Wednesday, June 9. Motorists will encounter shoulder work on US 24. Traffic impacts will include:
Speeds reduced to 45 mph in the work zone.
Working hours will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Various shoulder closures will take place within the work zone.
Traffic fines will be doubled in the work zone. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zones, drive with caution, allow extra space between vehicles, and give themselves extra travel time.
