Winter Storm *Warning* - N & W Park County

... Winter Storm *Warning* remains in effect until 5 PM MST this afternoon...

* what... light to moderate snow this morning, decreasing in the
afternoon. Additional snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches. Winds
gusting 40 to 50 mph over higher ridges.

* Where... the mountains of Summit County, the Mosquito Range,
and the Indian Peaks and Rabbit Ears Pass.

* When... until 5 PM MST this afternoon.

* Additional details... plan on slippery Road conditions. The
hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Gusty
winds could bring down tree branches.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.

The latest Road conditions for the state you are calling from can

…*NEW* WINTER STORM *WARNING* IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM FRIDAY TO 6 AM MST
SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 4
inches this afternoon, with winds gusting as high as 45 mph. For
Friday into Saturday additional accumulations of 6 to 12 inches
expected. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph over the higher
elevations.

* WHERE...Rabbit Ears Pass and The Mountains of Summit County,
the Mosquito Range, and the Indian Peaks.

* WHEN...Snow will diminish this afternoon, with areas of light
snow overnight into Friday morning. Snow will increase Friday
afternoon and continue overnight.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will be very difficult to
impossible, especially this afternoon and again late Friday
afternoon and evening. The cold wind chills as low as 20 below
zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30
minutes.

thunderstorm activity. Winds gusting as high as 70 mph later
tonight.

* Where... the mountains of Summit County, the Mosquito Range,
and the Indian Peaks, Rocky Mountain National Park, the
Medicine Bow range and Rabbit Ears Pass.

* When... until 6 am MST Saturday.

* Additional details... travel could be very difficult. Areas of
blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The
hazardous conditions could impact the evening and morning
travel times. Cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could
cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
