Small Stream Flood Advisory - Includes Park County

Post by ParkBull » Mon Jul 05, 2021 1:38 pm

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a

* Small Stream Flood Advisory for... North Central Park County in central Colorado...

* Until 300 PM MDT.

* At 129 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 1
and 2 inches of rain have fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Jefferson and Tarryall Reservoir.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
Michigan Creek, Guernsey Creek, Park Gulch, Tarryall Creek, Old
House Creek, Jefferson Creek, Rock Creek and Ruby Gulch.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of
creeks and streams, roads and roadside culverts. The heavy rains
could also trigger rock slides or debris flows in steep terrain.
